MARK VIAVATTINE
Mark Viavattine is a freelance saxophonist living in New York City. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of styles primarily including jazz and classical idioms.
In 2013, Mark received a dual Bachelor of Music degree in Saxophone Performance and Music Education from the Eastman School of Music. During his time at ESM, Mark participated in select ensembles such as the world renowned Eastman Wind Ensemble and the Eastman Saxophone Project, which has risen rapidly to international acclaim since it's debut in 2010. Mark was also a member of the Obsidian Saxophone Quartet, Phoenix Saxophone Quartet, and the Eastman Jazz Lab Band.
While at Eastman, Mark was awarded a Performer's Certificate, an award given to a select few students based upon exemplary performance.
Mark received his Master's degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance from the University of Miami: Frost School of Music in 2016. There, he was a member of prestigious ensembles such as the Frost Salsa Orchestra, Brian Lynch Artist Ensemble and Frost Concert Jazz Band.
While in Miami, Mark performed with such notable artists as Gloria Estefan, Arturo Sandoval and Barry Manilow.
As an educator, Mark is a full-time faculty member of the Port Washington School District in Port Washington, NY. Mark also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University, Post. He also maintains private studio both in the NYC area and online.
Mark is a performing artist for D'Addario Woodwinds, as well as Selmer Paris Saxophones, and performs on these products exclusively.
